Determined to better the world, one space at a time.
What is Eco-Luxury? How can we indulge without damage?
Travel is a wonderful way to experience and share different cultures but it can also be harmful to these places. How do we create a resort full of amenities that does not harm the place in which it stands but instead integrates itself within it?
Purlieu aims to answer these questions.
Kirkland Tower | Condos
Working within SketchUp I created digital models of three units within the Kirkland Tower in order to use for marketing materials. I showcased the three various finish packages being offered to buyers using VRay to render each unit.
I also assisted a small team of two other designers and the principal to create a set of construction documents with AutoCAD.
Child Life Montessori
Child Life Montessori is a school for ages 3 - 6 located in Bend, Oregon. This school operates within the Montessori structure and has its own unique program that must be met.
My concept for the space was to design a school that is a living, breathing entity. Biophillic methods to inspire exploration, play and connection to the natural world. Sustainable design methods, materials and unique interactive design features are used to evoke learning.
All construction drawings were made with Revit.
GAP Kids is looking at placing a new headquarters in Portland, OR. The office space is meant to represent GAP Kids as a brand and house a local headquarters outfitted with offices, work space, a conference room and training spaces as well as collaborative spaces for the team to meet in.
The objective is to represent the brand through visual cues and to provide the employees with an invigorating place to work. The office space will be secure from the general public as most doors will require key card access, as the building is shared with other businesses.
Tasked with designing a physical therapy office with a focus on using a green building program, myself and two other designers chose to use LEED as our guide.
Equilibrium; a state of physical balance, a calm state of mind.
We aimed to design a place that would not only allow you to heal physical and recover from injury but also allow you to be in a calm state of mind. Employing several biophilic design strategies and using LEED v3 as our guide, we selected several areas to earn points and incorporated them into our design.
A small tenant improvement project in SE Portland, OR. I gathered site measurements and generated a set of construction documents that were approved by Portland's Bureau of Development, gaining my client their necessary permits.
Deceit - A surprisingly simple credenza.
Or maybe a jewelry case? Up to you.
Deceit was born out of a challenge to take a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood and create a freestanding piece of furniture. 80% had to be the plywood 20% could be hardware, fasteners, etc.
A collection of various digital renderings I’ve done across multiple rendering programs; SketchUp, Revit, VRay, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
Using a mix of topographic information, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator and a laser cutter I created several site models for Green Home Design + Build during my internship.
Copper wire was used to create trees in order to represent stand outs on the site or in one case an entire orchard.
Small pieces of wood, plastic and metal became representations of possible buildings, greenhouses and other structures. All cut to scale.
